Update: The Subscribe to Comments Plugin is fully supported in Cutline version 1.03.
In order to make this site more useful for you, the Cutline user, I’ve added the excellent Subscribe to Comments Plugin. By checking a box in the comment form, you’ll be able to receive email updates whenever a comment is added to any post to which you’ve subscribed.
This way, you won’t have to check back in constantly to see if I’ve responded to your question. Instead, you’ll receive an email notification, and you’ll know that you’ve got some love waiting for ya here at the Cutline support site.
It’s all about efficiency and accessibility, two words that the geek in me just love.

How can I change name of the “front page” to “home”?
I’m really new at this. Do I need to learn all about CSS? I know basic html.
Thanks much. Leisa

Leisa,
All you have to do is modify the XHTML in the
header.phpfile — no CSS required! If you want to do extensive modifications, though, I absolutely recommend learning some CSS.

I’ve got the 1.0.3 version of Cutline (which I totally want to invite over after school and make out with it until my mom comes home from work) but activating the subscribe to comments plugin gives me:
WordPress database error: [Access denied for user ‘yscr_bbN75F’@'localhost’ to database ‘blog’]
ALTER TABLE wp_comments ADD COLUMN comment_subscribe enum(’Y',’N') NOT NULL default ‘N’
What gives?

Kristen,
That looks like something you might want to take up with your Web host.
Other than that, I recommend disabling the plugin, uninstalling it, and the re-isntalling it.
Sometimes that fixes strage or erratic behavior with plugins.
Oh, and if that doesn’t work, you can always try to search for comments on the Web where others echo similar problems with the plugin. I’ve solved quite a few issues that way in the past.

Not sure how to “interact” with the designer.
I love the Cutline theme. Simple and bold . . . I do miss the subtle edit link on each posting . . . since I have to some editing on most posting (mainly addin the class param to the img tags) . . . so added a tag in the appropriate spot in index.php . . . Hope this isn’t a huge violation.
Thanks.
Happy New Year.

How do I activate the links in the side bar?
When I click on the recent post or visit archives links, I am sent to the index page.
How about a little love….

Hi, that is a great theme. I would like to use it for a blog in german. where can I change the expression “blogroll” to the apropriate German word? Also: where can I change the date format so that the month comes after the day?

Here’s a head-scratcher. I just installed the Subscribe-to-Comments plugin, and to test that it’s working, I logged out of Wordpress. I was going to test it on an older post so I clicked the Archives link to go back a year or two. For some reason the Archives page gives me a 404 when I’m not logged in, but not when I am logged in. Any ideas?

Hi, I’m using Cutline 1.1 with WordPress 2.2.1 and Subscribe-To-Comments 2.1.1, and here’s my small problem:
The checkbox for subscribing appears as expected in the comment form area, and the plugin does work, but the “Notify me of followup comments via e-mail” text does not appear next to the checkbox.
Is this a problem with Cutline, with the plugin, or with WordPress? Any idea how I can fix it? I’m not a PHP whiz by any means, but could manage some basic edits if you could tell me where to look. Thanks.
