I have checked and double checked, deleted and re-uploaded the entire theme, but I still can;t get the index page to show up correctly... I use Firefox, and Wordpress 2.3 and it worked when I first installed the theme. Now it doesn't =( ANyone have any ideas besides delete and re-upload the theme. I already did that three times..

    The page is http://www.bestgreenblogs.com/meta

  2. Are you trying to use a sitemap via a downloaded widget?

I'm trying to create another blog (I've got one working already) and am now have the exact same problem - the blog appears normally in IE6 but does not in Firefox. I even destroyed the new blog and started from scrach, hoping that would fix the problem - it did not. Any ideas?

Aha! Wouldn't you know it - I've been messing around with this for the past few hours and just got it to work. Here's how I done it :)

Do NOT use the "OneClick" plugin to install Cutline - using good 'ole fashioned ftp instead. Worked like a charm. Oh well. . .

    Cheers!

  7. Are you talking about 'activating' Cutline using ftp? If so, how do you do that? manually change a file?

    Edward,

I'm afraid I've spent so much time trying so many things that I'm not sure of everything I did. I was able to get Cutline work properly on one blog but, when I tried to create a second one on the same site (using a different directory), the problem with the IE vs. Firefox problem surfaced. No matter what I tried, when looking at the blog in Firefox would reveal that all of the formatting was gone (as if there was not a css file) - interestingly, there were no problems with IE. It wasn't until I completely destroyed the second blog (all my data was backed up) and recreated it that I uploaded Cutline, using ftp (I used the program, FTP Commander), that it finally started to appear "normal" in Firebox.

Now, I'm battling the random image problem again. I was able to get it to work on my first blog but, even now, the second one seldom displays a new image upon refreshing to page. This is all very, very frustrating.

FYI, I'm using the 3 colume Cutline.

  9. Yeah it certainly is a strange one alright!! I reinstalled WP and the theme from scratch...same problem. It's almost like FireFox isn't supporting the style or something. Chris if you're reading this do you have any thoughts?

  10. After further investigation I've found what's causing the problem. Once a post is published if you go back into it in Word Press, edit it then save it the page appears screwed up in Firefox yet it's fine in internet explorer. So obviously WP is making some ammendments to the code which Firefox doesn't like.

In my case I'm posting videos directly to WP through viddler.com...First off the bat they post fine and appear in both browsers. If I then login to WP to edit the post to change the category it appears in it borks in Firefox.

I realised that it's actually the visual editor in WP which is screwing things up. If you disable it by doing the following then all will be sweet! It just means you have to edit manually with html which may be annoying for some.

Disable the emotions :-) option in: Options > writing

Then go into: Users and edit the profile of the user you post with (this can be admin). Untick the first box so the visual editor is disabled and Voila!

That's certainly interesting - I'll have to give it a try too. Are you having any problems with the random images? That's something else that isn't working properly. On the first blog I created, it seems to be fine but on the second one, it doesn't seem to work about 90% of the time. Strange.

  12. I'm just using a static image http://www.winerendezvous.com/index-blog.php/ (it's there, while I'm still building it)

  13. Glad you guys got this figured out. For the record the visual editor in Wordpress SUCKS. I've had lots of problems with it messing up stuff and screwing up code, so I just disabled it. If anyone else is having problems that is the best solution until they come out with a better version.
