I just looked at your page in Firebug and the HTML view shows the following.

<font face="Verdana,Sans-serif">
<font size="2" color="black"/>
</font>
I think this might be the problem cos its definitely a Sans-Serif font in you right Sidebar, whereas the left Sidebar is Serif. I dont know enough to know where this definition is coming from but hopefully this will help you track it down.
Enter this line into your "custom.css" file (has to be in the same folder as the "style.css" file):
ul.sidebar_list li.widget, ul.sidebar_list li.linkcat { width: 210px; margin: 0 0 2.5em 0; font-size: 1.2em; line-height: 1.2em; float: left; }
Play with the font size in that line. I think that will do it.
Cutline evidently loads the "custom.css" after "style.css", so anything you put in it overrides the default styling. That will make it much easier to know what you have changed when updates come along.

karmatashi - The div id is set in r_sidebar.php. I have tried changing this to match the div id in l_sidebar.php (l_sidebar). Result was no difference. Even renaming l_sidebar.php to r_sidebar.php resulted in the same formatting as I currently have, ruling that file out as the source of the issue. I have tried playing with allareas of the css where sans-serif appears - no result.
FrankHagan - Thanks, but making that change has an effect on the left sidebar as well. So, if I reduce the font size, although the right sidebar is reduced, so is the left. Also making a reduction to the font size in this way effects the font size on all pages.
The thing that is making this tricky is that the different font size is ONLY on the front page. It is perfect on all other pages. Checking the HTML source for the home page and another page, making a comparison reveals no difference there.
I can find no logical reason as to why the font size in the right sidebar should be different on the home page only???????

I checked your profile, and then checked your site. I don't see anything either, even looking at your other pages. It looks like the classes are called out the same.
