   I am developing a blog and podcast for a non profit. Anyway I have just about finished the basics and I have discovered a major problem; the option to comment on a post does not appear at the bottom of each post.

   I have comments enabled etc and checked to make sure that comments are allowed for each post.

   When first setting up I had to change the permalinks to use date and name based:

   /%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/

   This was to allow support for custom links at the top.

   I disabled all plugins to see if it was something they were doing but no luck there either. I just can't believe that I only just noticed this, so I am not sure when it happened.

   I am not sure what the go is and I am not a coding guru I only know the basics. So some assistance would be great.

   Just wanted to add to that- when enabled comments are working for pages. However when viewing a blog post the comments box is nowhere to be seen.

   Did a search on the WordPress.org forums and found out what the problem was. For some reason unknown to myself. When the Theme was uploaded. The single.php failed to go with it.

   Strange because I uploaded the whole theme in a folder - not as separate files.

   Anyway added the single.php and the comments are now working.

   Just in case someone else has the same issue :)
