Changes to left sidebar make page disappear

    I am working on customizing Cutline three-column split 1.1 for a new site, and every time I edit the left sidebar (in any way) either the edit is ignored, or the whole page except the header disappears.

    I've tried doing nothing but changing the last character of "CATEGORIES" to a "Z"; it ignored that change. I don't know how, but it did. When I change the whole word to "BROWSE" it produces the error where the entire page disappears.

    Sounds crazy, but it's true. Anybody got any ideas?

    I actually never found out *why* exactly, in a code sort of way, but I did figure out that I wasn't getting the whole sidebar widgets thing. I was over-riding the sidebar using widgets.

    I don't know how to mark this resolved. If somebody sees it who does, please do it for me. Thanks.
