I am using the <a href="http://tech.windsofstorm.net/wordpress/drop-archive-widget/">Dropdown Archives widget</a>, but I doubt that this is the culprit, because I had the problem prior to activating this plugin. My 'archive_head' is stuck on January 2008. Incidentally, the archive entries are all correctly assigned to the respective month, even in the browser title.
