Visual Editor is a hassle that way...

Try adding
&nbsp;
for spacing in sentences.

To add extra lines try this,
<p>&nbsp;</p>

Okay, I guess sentence spacing doesn't work properly in code function, only in Visual Editor. Weird. And I hate visual editor because if you make a second or third change there, it wipes out all of the first changes.

Oh well. I can live with it.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Any idea how to change the background color of blog posts so each blog post appears to sit within a colored rectangle with a gap in between each post?

I run a blog called Sticki News, it's a news blog. Obviously, I've got several navigation buttons working, Sports, Technology, Politics and Home are the main 4. I have 5 categories in which I post, Sports, Technology, Top Stories, yada yada yada.

Here's my question. I want to write an article and categorize it Technology, and then have it appear in my Technology Navigation Link Page. So when a visitor wants to read my latest Sports posts, he/she wont have to use the Archives or search through my entire home page. He can simply click the appropriate nav link and it takes him/her to it.

As of now, all my posts go on the main page, which is great. I just need them to be carried over to their particular page as well. Check my blog out, so you can understand what I mean.

Recent posts on home page and on the appropriate page would be ideal in my situation. I update a lot and people might miss a great post because it's at the bottom or has been pushed to archives.

Please help me out, I'll looking for a solid fix. A plug-in would be lovely, but code will work. I used Javier's code posted in the "add navigation links" tutorial. So I can add any page from the wordpress admin panel and it works great. I just need to have an automated way to place posts where they belong.

HELP!

Thanks for the time, I know the question is loaded. I appreciate any help I can get guys/gals.

Well...I changed my permalink structure back to the default from "numeric," and that fixed the post problem. However, it broke the links to my Cutline Archives and About pages. Both of the links on the site header generate 'internal server errors.' The links in my sidebars work correctly, however. Very frustrating...definitely appears to be a Cutline problem. Hate to have to scrap the theme.

Anyone?

After creating my initial post two days ago, all was well. Then after composing a second post, suddenly clicking on either post brings me to the archive page. No matter how I try to read a post, all post links end up at the archive page. Can't tell if this is a WordPress problem (I've posted this question there as well) or a Cutline problem.

This happens to be when I edit in Safari - when I edit in Firefox things are okay. But I can't do some pulldown things while in Firefox (like changing authors for pages). I just got new computer with OS 10.5 so somehow that might be the problem too. Anyway, try a different browser and see if that helps.

All of my old posts have breaks in them, but all of a sudden, now new ones don't. I enter a break with RETURN during the writing process, but they show up as one big text block when published. If I try to edit an old post, it takes the breaks out.

I tried to make a 'sub titel' in my posts by placing
<h5>...</h5>
around the text. This works for the posts when viewed in index.php and singel.php but not in archive.php and search.php (where the h5 code is replaced by
<p>
and
</br>
which can be seen by viewing the source in the browser). Trying to achieve consistency in the way the posts looked I tried replacing the
<?php the_excerpt() ?>
by
<?php the_content('[Read more &rarr;]'); ?>
like is used in the index.php and everything LOOKS ok now. Why was the_excerpt used in archive.php in the first place and will anything terrible happen if I leave it this way?

regards,

A friend running Firefox on a Mac just said the site didn't look right on his screen either:

I've got Firefox on my Mac here at work, and it looks like the pictures are
really screwing with it in terms of spacing. On the main page, it looks
fine until you finish the links on the left-hand side, at which point the
blog stuff stretches across the entire page and the pictures aren't really
centered, etc.

I stripped out the header images and checked it on IE 6. The site still didn't look right.

My site (www.margaretandzach.com) looks fine in Safari and Firefox, but it's jumbled in IE 6 on a PC. For example, the Recent Comments and Friends widgets that should be on the bottom of the left sidebar appear where the first post should be. And rather than appearing in the middle column, the first post appears on the far left, underneath the truncated sidebar. The right sidebar starts adjacent to that first post, instead of at the top of the page.

Any suggestions?
