I've just transfered from wordpress.com to .org and my cutline design has a few "issues".

#1 How can I change the font in the posts because it's all different sizes and shapes?
also can you change the font size in the left and right sidebars so they are the same. One side now is much bigger
#2 How do I change the images in the header back to my own.
#3 My "pages" aren't showing up on the header only in the sidebar

Thanks much.

I have read the style sheet and I don't know what to edit or what to edit it to. It looks like there are several fonts for each style. Which do I change?

NO prob. Definitely checkout the W3C schools. They give you tutorials, and samples, and explain everything in a very easy to understand matter.

Basic CSS is very logical and easy to understand. It's really just a matter of knowing what you can do with it.

But you definitely want to understand the basic syntax before you start messing with your theme, but changing colors is pretty safe and simple.

http://www.w3schools.com/css/default.asp ... it's how I learned everything I know.

It's h2 I believe. The easiest way for you to see what css is affecting what is to download and install firebug. It'll make things a lot easier. If you don't have at least a very rudimentary understanding of CSS, you should study up BEFORE you start tinkering around with things.

Try doing this on your style sheet:

#content h2, .posts h2 {color: #xxxxxx;}

Also

h2 a {color: #xxxxxx;}

h2 a:hover {color: #xxxxxx;} (for hovering on the title links)

I did it differently because I modified my single.php file to add the class "title" to the h2 tags surrounding the blog post title so my sheet (and I use the custom.css sheet ) looks like this.

.custom h2 a, h2.title {
	color: #8c1717; text-decoration: none; font-size: 22px;
	font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", Times, serif;
	text-transform: none; font-weight: lighter;
	letter-spacing: 0.1em; line-height: 120%;
}

.custom h2 a:hover {
	color: #888; text-decoration: none;
}

obviously xxxxxx is whatever hexadecimal color you want.

I'm having some issues with the font on individual entry pages behaving differently than it does on my main page.
For example, my main page is: http://www.elblogdekalin.com
When you go to the individual page for an entry (ex: http://elblogdekalin.com/?p=3), the entry font has gotten smaller with narrower line width, while the headings are getting bigger.

Any idea on what I'm missing to correct this?

Thanks in advance!

Thank you to you both, but... (there's always a but)

karmatashi - The div id is set in r_sidebar.php. I have tried changing this to match the div id in l_sidebar.php (l_sidebar). Result was no difference. Even renaming l_sidebar.php to r_sidebar.php resulted in the same formatting as I currently have, ruling that file out as the source of the issue. I have tried playing with allareas of the css where sans-serif appears - no result.

FrankHagan - Thanks, but making that change has an effect on the left sidebar as well. So, if I reduce the font size, although the right sidebar is reduced, so is the left. Also making a reduction to the font size in this way effects the font size on all pages.

The thing that is making this tricky is that the different font size is ONLY on the front page. It is perfect on all other pages. Checking the HTML source for the home page and another page, making a comparison reveals no difference there.

I can find no logical reason as to why the font size in the right sidebar should be different on the home page only???????

Your advice is very much appreciated, and I thank you for taking the time to look at this.

Enter this line into your "custom.css" file (has to be in the same folder as the "style.css" file):

ul.sidebar_list li.widget, ul.sidebar_list li.linkcat { width: 210px; margin: 0 0 2.5em 0; font-size: 1.2em; line-height: 1.2em; float: left; }

Play with the font size in that line. I think that will do it.

Cutline evidently loads the "custom.css" after "style.css", so anything you put in it overrides the default styling. That will make it much easier to know what you have changed when updates come along.

Hi Frog,

I just looked at your page in Firebug and the HTML view shows the following.

<div id="sidebar">
<font face="Verdana,Sans-serif">
<font size="2" color="black"/>
</font>

I think this might be the problem cos its definitely a Sans-Serif font in you right Sidebar, whereas the left Sidebar is Serif. I dont know enough to know where this definition is coming from but hopefully this will help you track it down.

The font size in the right sidebar on the main page is much larger than it appears anywhere else. How do I change this?

I have checked r-sidebar.php, index.php & the css for clues as to where this peculiar formatting might be, but cannot find it

Using 3 column version

Any help would be appreciated.
