We are pleased to inform everyone that the following versions of Cutline have been released:
As I’ve written previously, the upgrade is for compatibility with the new features of WordPress 2.7. A summary of fixes in these editions:
- Gravatar support (which replaces the comment numbering)
- Threaded comment support (if activated within WordPress settings)
- Post classes (you can differentiate the look of sticky and other posts)
- Image class support (compatible with the classes used by WordPress image uploader)
- Some under-the-hood tweaks
I’m currently working on setting up a preview site for all four versions. If you’re upgrading your theme, be sure to upload the entire thing, as many of the files have been edited. Don’t forget to backup.
Enjoy Cutline!

Looks like it’s working!
Yeah… it’s work. Done.
I just wanted to say ‘thanks’. I love this theme and use it on a bunch of my sites (storiesbyclaudia.com; denvercereal.com; alexthefey.com)
((hug))
You make my life better, easier, and more beautiful.
Thank you.
I just downloaded the Cutline 2.2.
I get the following error when I switched my blog to that layout:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function post_class() in /wp-content/themes/Cutline 2.2/index.php on line 6
Did I do something wrong?
thanks,
Mary
Hi Mary,
Are you using WordPress 2.7? Cutline 2.2 is meant to be used for WP 2.7 (and up).
Cheers,
angelo
THANK YOU! I hadn’t upgraded since created my blog March 2008 with WP 2.3 because wasn’t sure if would be compatible with Cutline, plug ins, etc. I’m a newbie. But today I successfully, and painlessly, upgraded to WP 2.7, Cutline 1.4, and all plug ins. Every works awesome. Only had to update customization of a few things. Very grateful for the upgrade. I love Cutline and really want to stay with it as WP develops.
Hi
I would like to know how could i change the photo header?
Is ther a way I can integrate google ads there instead?
The one thing that would be nice to see in the cutline 1.3 split is the same shading when you reply to a comment here.
testing
Hi–I am currently using 2.6 Wordpress and Cutline 1.1 3 column split. Has anybody upgraded to 2.7 and 1.4? How did it go? I would like to use theme tester, if I could, but am not a techie… please give suggestions, ideas. Thanks,
Glenda

2 questions:
why when i add a text widget the search it tool disapperas
The 2.2 zip file has two Cutline 2.2 folders nested. The both have different versions of the same files. Which one should I use? You may want to put a new zip file on your site with the correct files.
Sorry for this. The download file is now fixed. The original download, though, contains the correct files in the main folder. But I should still post an update.
Cheers,
angelo
Hi! I suppose the Header Image Randomizer will work fine with these new vesions of the theme, but are there any special recommendations?
I am specifically interested in the 3-column split.
hi,
karina again.
i want to change the header image to google adsense code in my site on how to make money online http://www.orientaccion.com
i tried but i couldn’t.can you guys help me pls?
Hi Karina,
It would take some tweaking, particualrly with the CSS, but this is possible. Check this forum page for details.
Will 2.2 still be able to use the old random header files? I would be loathe to upgrade and lose that facility.
OK I just substituded the old random header page over the new header page, uploaded and it works a treat. Great theme, and thanks for the update.
I’m getting a bad file message when I try to unzip e.g.
! C:\Documents and Settings\….\My Documents\…\Cutline-1.4-3ColumnSplit.zip: The archive is either in unknown format or damaged
Great theme by the way!
Thanks in advance,
zjr

By the way, if you can stand some shameless plugin plugging…it’s not necessary to drop comment numbering altogether!
If you’d like to display a number along each comment, to help readers identify at a glance which way the discussion is going, a new plugin can provide accurate numbering regardless of whether you’re displaying comments in ascending or descending date order, with or without paging, and with or without threading:

I just have one header image static now. How do you get the randomizer working in 2.2?
Mark have you downloaded this version of header.php: http://www.tubetorial.com/downloads/random_header.zip , it works perfectly well with Cutline 2.2
thanks for share this theme!

Thanks for the new Cutline!
It’s great!
Thanks for a great theme. I’ve been trying out the new 3-column split cutline with WP 2.7.1
I notice there doesn’t appear to be any navigation to child pages neither through the menu above the header or from the parent page itself. The only way I can see child pages is to add the pages widget to a side bar. Is this correct?
Yes, we need child page support. The only way to navigate to a child page seems to be through the sitemap. Does anyone have a fix for the 3colsplit for 2.7?
I’d love child page support also! Many thanks for all the work done.

Thanks, using the 3 column split. Clean design, looking to change the header pictures. I’ll follow the link in the comment above or look more in the forum.
where can I get Chinese translation file for this theme?
I love your WP theme! It’s very versatile. I currently use “Cutline-1.4-3ColumnRight.”
I have a question regarding the header images. Is it possible to create a different header image for each page created? Currently, it appears one header image is used for the home page, one for however many pages are created, one for the archives page, and one for recent posts and categories. I’d like to have a different header image for each page I create, kind of unique to that page. How can I do that?
Thanks for your help!

Thanks for the theme. I downloaded and installed Cutline-1.4-3ColumnRight. It works perfectly in my site.
I have a problem since I installed cutline 1.4 (3 column split): The tags underneath the posts run much too far to the right, some even outside of the screen.
Anybody else having this problem? Any ideas how to fix it?
I use Wordpress 2.8 (but the problem was also there with 2.7)
Hi Christoph, I think I’ve figured out the problem. You can view the solution here:

It helped indeed. Thank you so much!

Hi. Downloaded 2.2 and notice there is no custom CSS file, as on other versions. Is the Stylesheet.css file itself intended to be tweaked in this version? Thanks! Love me some Cutline!
You can edit that stylesheet if you want to add custom code. The custom.css file is just to avoid confusion. Add your code at the end of the file to be sure.
