A Sincere Apology

August 22nd, 2007 · 5 Comments · Site Updates

I would personally like to apologize to the Cutline community – over the past few months, I haven’t been as involved as I had intended. I was able to do a few things, like code a 3 column version and set up the showcase – however from reading all of the comments, it seems as though the community is more interested in theme support, and having issues resolved (as a theme community should).

Anyway, I have been exceptionally busy with my freelance projects and theme development, and want to take full responsibility for the lack of responses here. It is not a reflection of Splashpress, rather the busyness of my personal schedule. Having said that, I am stepping down from managing the theme, only to allow someone with more time, and more charisma towards continuing Chris’ legacy here.

But still sorry to hear that you won’t be able to join us again in helping us out in the future. Hope someone as good and wise as you will take your place then.
Sorry to hear, man. Anyway hope to hear in the future that you miss helping us out… 😉

Why be apologetic? What I’d suggest, instead of passing the buck to someone else — is perhaps identifying the typical questions that everyone posts here, and then generate a number of brief tutorials that counter those common ‘mistakes and issues’. Use the Comments section here more as a tool for the development, instead of attempting to interact in the way that Chris had done.

If I might be so bold, I have to say that even Chris would take a while at times to get to answering anything left in comments. I always appreciated his help, but I don’t think anyone expects a superman on the other end.

Make it your own, man. Come on — you can do it!

A vote of thanks, Brian, for all you’ve done with Cutline and all you’ve offered up … out of pure generosity. You have no need to regret … the reason for leaving … being overloaded with paying work is a good thing. be well.

I’m on the same page as Dave. I’m grateful for this theme. I was desperate for a clean-looking three-column theme for a church website I had promised to migrate from a hideous FrontPage site, and I ain’t no designer (and for most of that time was self-employed, which means when you aren’t working you’re looking for work).

It would be GREAT if you stepped in with more advice and assistance, but you need food and housing like the rest of us.

What you really need is a student intern. 😉

I’ll play student intern and try to address all the problems in the next days. 🙂
